Teach at Uncommon.  Change History.

Our teachers are smart, problem-solving, and passionate individuals who work as part of a dynamic team.  They know that educational opportunity is the civil rights movement of our time.  They are self-reflective leaders who work relentlessly to close the achievement gap.

At Uncommon, good teachers become great teachers. Faculty members participate in three weeks of professional development each summer and a half day of professional development each week. Teachers benefit from the mentorship of their principals, deans, and managing directors. They are frequently observed, guided, and coached to improve their practice.

Uncommon teachers teach until the students learn. With a longer school day and school year, Uncommon schools offer the time students need. Teachers provide a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students exemplify the school’s core values and meet its high academic and behavioral expectations.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers, new teachers, college seniors (all majors), and career changers.
