To Apply for Admission

Applications for the lottery are available at Information Sessions (dates TBD). The deadline to submit an application for the lottery is at 5PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

Consider your options carefully. A decision to enroll at Leadership Prep Charter School is a long-term commitment. We will have high expectations for you, just as you will have high expectations for the school.

Information Sessions

The school hosts a series of Information Sessions that provide prospective families with the opportunity to learn more about the school, our mission, our values, our program and our results. Applications for admission are only available at Information Sessions.

The dates for the Admissions Information Sessions will be released during the Fall of 2008. Please check back!

All Information Sessions are held at Leadership Prep, 600 Lafayette Avenue.

Community School District Preference

Based on legislation passed in the spring of 2007*, all New York City charter schools must give preference to students residing in the Community School District (CSD) in which the charter school is located. However, students who reside outside the CSD are eligible to apply and may be admitted if space permits.

Leadership Prep Charter School is located in

Community School District (CSD) # 13

To determine your CSD, please visit the New York City Department of Education website: http://maps.nycboe.net. Type in the four pieces of address information at the top of the page (Borough, House #, Street Prefix (if any), Street Name) and press Go.

Your CSD is based on either the elementary or the middle school districts listed at the bottom of the page. Your child will be given preference in the lottery if you reside in CSD 13 for either the elementary school or the middle school. (Sometimes the districts will be different, sometimes the same.) If you are unable to access this website, please call the Office of Family Engagement and Advocacy at 212-374-2323.

You must provide approved documentation to confirm your CSD. Please refer to the LPCS application for further details.
