Fellows

We offer both instructional and operations fellowships for candidates looking to explore a variety of leadership opportunities. Both fellowships are paid, full-time positions within Uncommon Schools and include school startup preparation, school visits, and ongoing mentorship. Instructional Fellowship

  • One to two year placement
  • Extensive professional development from Uncommon staff
  • Significant teaching and coaching opportunities
  • Exposure to leadership, including Instructional Leaders and Managing Directors
  • Enrollment in the Relay Graduate School of Education

Fellowship Course of study:

Instructional

  • Curriculum alignment and yearlong Planning
  • Data-driven instruction
  • Driving student achievement in special education
  • Observation and feedback
  • Taxonomy of effective teaching practices
  • Teaching core subject areas (math, reading, writing, history, and science)

  • Exposure to leadership, including Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officers
