Melinda Evans

Senior Associate Director of Organizational Learning

Melinda Evans joined Uncommon Schools in September 2008 as a Video Analyst, and transitioned to the role of Video Project Manager in August 2009. She became the Senior Associate Director of Organizational Learning in July 2011. Prior to joining Uncommon, Ms. Evans served as Documentarian at KIPP SHINE Prep in Houston, Texas, where she was responsible for the production of media used for professional development, public relations, and recruitment. While at KIPP SHINE, Ms. Evans introduced the Literacy Through Photography program, taught photography and writing to second grade students, and also co-taught a Pre-K class.  In addition, Ms. Evans previously taught Photojournalism to high school students at the Urban Assembly School of Business for Young Women. As an undergraduate, Ms. Evans held internships in the Education and Outreach department of Houston PBS and with Scribe Video Center, a non-profit media training center in Philadelphia. Ms. Evans earned her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in the Growth and Structure of Cities with a Concentration in Media.
