J.T. Leaird was part of the founding staff of Williamsburg Collegiate in 2005, which means she’s had the awesome privilege to work with every student who’s come through WCCS in our first nine years. Prior to serving as Principal, Ms. Leaird served as the Dean of Student Support, Special Education teacher and coordinator and a 7th and 8th grade Reading and Writing teacher at WCCS. She earned her Master’s degree in Education at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. While completing her graduate degree, Ms. Leaird researched the writing development of Nashville public school students. Ms. Leaird started her teaching career as a Teach For America corps member in New Orleans, teaching 2nd and 3rd grade. Ms. Leaird earned a Bachelor’s degree in English modified with Studio Art from Dartmouth College.
