Heather LaVine
Senior Associate Director of Recruitment
Heather LaVine joined Uncommon Schools as an Associate Director of Recruitment in 2010, and transitioned to the role of Senior Associate Director of Recruitment in July 2011. Prior to joining Uncommon, she served as Director of Fan Development for the Tri-City ValleyCats, a Minor League Baseball team in Troy, NY. In this role she focused on cultivating the fan experience in the ballpark and developing community partnerships. While with the ValleyCats, Ms. LaVine was honored as a 2010 Woman of Excellence (Emerging Professional) by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and was named the 2009 New York-Penn League JoAnn Weber Female Executive of the Year. Prior to working in baseball, she was a Teach for America Corps Member and taught for six years in Washington, DC Public Schools. Ms. LaVine holds a B.A. in History from Bryn Mawr College and received an M.S. in Sport Management and an M.B.A. from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
